Profile

George graduated in Medicine 1986 from Melbourne University.

He trained in Cardiology at Austin Repat obtaining his Fellowship in College of Physicians 1995.

He then travelled to Boston, USA where he completed Interventional Training at Massachusetts General Hospital under the care of Dr Herman Gold.
While training with Dr Gold he undertook research in Anti Platelet therapy and Management of Acute Coronary Syndromes.

On return to Melbourne in 1999, George has been a Visiting Medical Officer at both Austin Hospital Cardiology Unit and Box Hill Hospital. He has been involved in training young local Cardiologists and in local research.

Dr Proimos sees private patients at both Epworth Richmond and Epworth Eastern Hospital. His Public patients are treated at both Austin and Box Hill Hospitals.
His Private patient’s are consulted at his rooms in Richmond and Box Hill.

George has an interest in Interventional Coronary disease, Atrial Septal Closure (ASD and PFO closure) and Transcutaneous Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR).
